You will then enjoy a panoramic morning drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is a must to visit and boasts a diverse and varied terrain in a relatively small area. The park stretches along the base of the 600 meters high Rift Valley escarpment. Lake Manyara covers two-thirds of the park. Incredibly, the other third of the park homes a variety of animals, which are supported by open savannah grassland with rocky outcrops, marshes and acacia woodland. The park is famous for tree-climbing lions and a huge variety of birds including flamingos. Other animals found here are buffalo, zebra, hippo, leopard, elephant, and giraffes. Dinner and overnight stay at Jambo Campsite.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner After breakfast head back into Lake Manyara National Park to enjoy a morning of game viewing. After lunch makes your way to the Ngorongoro Crater rim in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will camp at Simba Campsite for the evening.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch In the early morning, we will depart for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. With an estimated 25,000 mammals, you are sure to be overwhelmed at the abundance of wildlife that exists within the crater at any one time.
Lake Magadi is a saline lake found on the Crater floor. The saline waters of this lake attract both lesser and greater flamingos, with flocks of several thousand forming when the lake is low. Other bird species that inhabit the Crater floor are ostrich and the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird. It may also be possible to spot cheetah, who are nomadic and move in and out of the Crater.
Leopard is highly elusive creatures, however, they are most likely encountered in the Lerai Forest. After enjoying lunch we will head back to Arusha where your safari concludes.
